OrthoLux: Orthopedic Support that Eases Daily Back Strain
You feel it every day — that slow, building tension when your chair stops supporting your back. Hours at your desk turn into stiffness, pressure and a dull ache that never quite goes away. You shift, stand and stretch, but the relief is brief.
Imagine What Real Relief Feels Like
Now picture the opposite. A chair that adjusts to YOUR body, not the other way round. One that reduces pressure, supports your spine and helps you sit with ease for long periods.
The OrthoLux bridges the gap between the discomfort you feel now and the comfort you’ve been hoping for. It adapts to your posture and gives your spine the steady support it needs to stay aligned through long workdays.
Give your back the support it has been missing. The OrthoLux delivers targeted support built around your body.
Why the OrthoLux Stands Apart
This chair is built for anyone who needs more support than a typical ergonomic office chair can offer. Its advanced adjustments let you shape the fit around your body, easing pressure on your spine so you can sit comfortably for longer. What is an orthopedic office chair and how is it different to an ergonomic one?
Key Benefits of the OrthoLux Orthopedic Chair:
- Superior back support. The height adjustable backrest with an integral lumbar cushion help to precisely support your spine and reduce discomfort while you sit.
- Superior Comfort. This chair promotes a healthy and comfortable sitting posture to reduce the risk of discomfort or pain associated with prolonged periods of sitting.
- Free-Float mechanism. The free-float orthopedic mechanism enables you to adjust the seat and backrest angles to relieve pressure in your back and match your ideal sitting posture.
The OrthoLux is suitable for:
- Executive and General Offices
- Home Offices
- People who don't require a chair with a headrest, but still need the advanced features only found in orthopedic office chairs.
The OrthoLux closes the gap between the discomfort you feel now,
and the relief you’ve been hoping for.

OrthoLux Orthopedic Chair: Adjustment Features
- Backrest Height Adjustment – Position the support precisely where you need it.
- Backrest Angle Adjustment – Lock or free-float the backrest to follow your movements and maintain spinal alignment.
- Seat Depth Adjustment – Align seat pan to thigh length to prevent knee strain and support circulation.
- Seat Angle Adjustment (Forward Tilt) – Opens the pelvis, encouraging a natural spinal curve and reducing lumbar pressure.
- Seat Height Adjustment – Set your seat at the correct height for posture and comfort.
- Armrest Height, Width & Pivot Adjustments – Keeps arms and shoulders relaxed while working, preventing tension in the shoulders and upper back.
How the OrthoLux adjustment features provide comfort and back pain relief.
1. Backrest adjustment
The backrest on the OrthoLux can be adjusted in two distinctive ways to specifically suit your spine and prevent or reduce lower back pain.
The free-float mechanism enables you to adjust the backrest angle to match your preferred working posture. The backrest can be securely locked in four different positions, or it can be left in an unlocked, free-floating mode. In this mode, the backrest remains in constant contact with your back and adapts to your movements. Furthermore, the backrest is height adjustable, allowing you to position the lumbar support precisely where you need it.
2. Seat Adjustment
a. Seat Angle
The OrthoLux is designed with an adjustable seat angle, permitting a forward slope of up to 5 degrees. This adjustment lowers the knees in relation to the hips, thereby “opening” the pelvis.
Sitting with an open pelvis facilitates a more natural curvature of the spine and reduces the pressure on the lumbar discs. Consequently, this reduces the probability of experiencing lower back pain during prolonged periods of sitting. What actually happens to your body when you sit?
b. Seat depth adjustment
The seat slider on the OrthoLux allows you to fine-tune the seat depth. You can move the seat pan backward or forward to match the length of your thighs.
When you are seated comfortably with your back against the backrest of the chair, there should be a 2-3 finger gap between the front edge of the seat and the back of your knees. This practice not only prevents strain behind the knees, but also provides optimal upper leg and under thigh support, promoting good blood circulation.
- For taller individuals with longer legs, a seat slider allows you to INCREASE the seat depth, thereby maintaining a correct ergonomic seated posture. Conversely, a shorter person should consider REDUCING the seat depth. If the seat is excessively long (deep), anyone with shorter legs might find themselves sitting on the front edge of the seat, leading to a lack of adequate back support.
- If you have a coccyx-related issue, a chair with seat depth adjustment can be invaluable. The seat slider allows you to position the seat depth to alleviate pressure on the coccyx, thereby improving comfort while sitting.
3. Armrest adjustment
The armrests on the OrthoLux are multi-adjustable, allowing you to position the supporting pads for optimum comfort.
In addition to vertical height adjustment, the arm pads can be adjusted horizontally (depth), and also pivoted inwards or outwards.

The OrthoLux has a Free-Float mechanism that promotes Dynamic Sitting.
Dynamic sitting occurs in an office chair that is fitted with a mechanism that allows the angle between the backrest and seat to change. By continuously changing this angle, you automatically stimulate, or activate various muscles in your lower back, core and legs. As a result, the blood flow through these muscles increases, bringing oxygen and other nutrients to the muscles and carrying away the waste products of muscle metabolism. By doing so, muscle fatigue and it’s associated pain is reduced, particularly in the lower back, core and legs.
An Orthopedic Chair is recommended for anyone who has chronic lower back pain. An orthopedic chair must have a forward-tilting seat function that reduces the rotation of the pelvis when sitting down. This decreases the disc pressure in the lumbar region of the back while you are seated. Compared to an ergonomic chair, an orthopedic chair has additional features to ensure the chair can be adjusted to specifically address chronic lower back pain. What is an orthopedic chair?

Rebecca –
The chair itself is of excellent quality. I have significant musculoskeletal challenges so I am still figuring out how best to position it for myself – thankfully it has many positioning options!
