The conical high-density foam discs are interconnected and a cut-away shape for the coccyx ensures that there is no undue pressure on the tail bone. By including the gradual transitional slope, the pelvis is ‘opened’ to create a slight negative tilt that improves blood flow to the legs. Some seating with inferior pressure distribution patterns could ultimately increase disc pressure in the lumbar and coccyx areas, causing unhealthy long term effects. When a person is in a seated position, their weight typically rests on a section of bone called the Ischial Tuberosity. When standing, the Gluteus Maximus muscle lies over it. However, when sitting down, this muscle shifts to a position behind it and the tuberosity bears the majority of the weight.
The firmness gradient in the 3-D conical shape of the DUAL DENSITY seat pinpoints load absorption and Indentation Load Deflections (*ILD). This allows the higher density foam to “push back” against the weight thus preventing the foam from “bottoming out”. This prevents the foam collapsing beneath your body weight, thereby restoring the natural curvature of the spine and reducing sciatic nerve pain.
