Why Do You Need A Footrest?
A footrest may be a small part of a workstation, but it can make a meaningful difference to comfort and posture. Consider using a footrest when the chair must be raised to suit the desk, but your feet can no longer rest firmly on the floor. What is the correct height of my office chair, desk and monitor?
A footrest is essential for shorter individuals using a standard fixed-height desk, and for hot-desking environments where the desks are not height adjustable.
Without proper foot support, you may slide forward in the chair or experience increased pressure beneath the thighs. This can contribute to poor posture and discomfort in the legs, hips, and lower back. Why Your Feet Might Be Dangling — Even With the Perfect Setup
The Step-Up Footrest for sitting or standing at work
A healthy sitting position at your desk means your feet are flat on the floor, your knees are slightly lower than your hips, your lower back is supported, your elbows are bent at about 90 degrees, and your forearms are supported on the armrests or the surface of the desk.
If you are shorter than average and you are using a desk that is not height adjustable, trying to sit in this position is often not possible as your feet don't reach the floor. In such cases a footrest is essential to support your feet and legs.
The Step-Up Footrest improves posture and prevents discomfort by reducing pressure on the thighs and lower legs. The tilting, or active action on the footrest:
- Prevents numbness, fatigue and stiffness that result from static muscles.
- Improves circulation to increases energy levels and concentration.
- Reduces lower back strain caused by a poor sitting posture.
- The 3 height settings allow you to personalise your level of comfort and support.
No assembly required.

Martin Kristiansen –
I’m not great as sitting at a desk and never feel really comfortable. I decided to give this footrest a try and have to say it has actually made a big difference. Very adjustable, I like the way I can “play” and adjust the tilt angle while I sit. It’s also a generous size so it gives me options for foot position. Solidly made it looks like it will last for ever. I definitely recommend this product.
Lindiwe Richer –
I’m short and so don’t sit comfortably in an office chair this footrest changes that. I like that you can adjust the angle easily depending on where you rest your feet this adds a great versatility. I definitely recommend this.
